https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/823

Arabic has been taught in many countries for diverse purposes, depending on national needs, curricula, and educational policies, including understanding the Qur’an and Sunnah, facilitating communication in tourism and journalism, and supporting economic activities. As a fundamental element of culture, language is interconnected with other cultural components and external systems, making the integration of Arabic teaching with broader scientific and social phenomena both relevant and necessary. The United Nations, through UNESCO, has emphasized global crises and cultural challenges as key issues in the sustainable development agenda, considering education the foundation of sustainability and promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), although Arabic teaching has not been fully aligned with this framework. This study explores trends in Arabic language teaching that respond to global challenges and contribute to sustainable development through desk research with a qualitative approach, using the Qur’an and Arabic textbooks in Indonesian Islamic schools, along with al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik and al-Lisān series, as primary sources, and books, sustainable development documents, and scholarly journals as secondary sources. Data were analyzed through substantive analysis, and the findings indicate promising trends in integrating Arabic language teaching with sustainable development principles through problem-based learning (PBL) and content-based instruction (CBI), further examined through the perspective of maqāṣid al-Qur’ān to propose a holistic and integrative paradigm for teaching Arabic in alignment with global sustainability goals.
Hayati SyahrilBermawy MuntheHurriyatus Sa'adiyah

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/824

Several previous studies have investigated the rainbow connection number. This research aims to determine the rainbow connection number of the snail graph. The snail graph, denoted by Sln , is constructed from a triangular book subgraph BTn whose common spine is amalgamated with the cycle C4, then two pendant vertices are added and attached to one of the end-vertices of the amalgamated spine. The rainbow connection number of a connected graph G, written rc(G), is defined as the minimum number of colors required so that G becomes rainbow connected. This study is a qualitative descriptive research. The method used is literature study, and the data analysis technique is non-statistical data analysis. From the results, it is found that the rainbow connection number of the snail graph is:4 when n=1;4 when n=2;5 when n=3;5 when n=4; and6 for all n≥5.
Gema Hista MedikaSyafrizal SyMuhafzanZulfaneti

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/795

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of applying neuroscience in Islamic education to strengthen students' faith through worship practices at SMAN 2 Kota Pariaman. In the era of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution, Islamic education is required to combine contemporary scientific advances with original Islamic values. Neuroscience, as a discipline that studies the structure and function of the brain, presents a new perspective in understanding the learning process, character building, and human spiritual development. This study uses qualitative methods through field observations, in-depth interviews, and literature reviews. The findings show that the integration of neuroscience with Islamic education contributes significantly to strengthening students' faith and shaping their religious character. There was an increase in enthusiasm for spiritual activities, a deeper understanding of tawhid, and positive behavioral changes in daily life. Worship activities such as prayer, dhikr, and recitation of the Qur'an were proven to activate parts of the brain related to executive control, emotional regulation, and long-term memory. Through the concept of neuroplasticity, consistent worship can bring about structural changes in the brain, thereby strengthening religious behavior. These results are in line with the views of classical scholars such as Ibn Sina, Al-Ghazali, and Al-Farabi, who emphasized the importance of spiritual practice in character building. This research contributes to the development of a holistic, contextual, and innovative Islamic education methodology for the current generation.
Hamzah Irfanda

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/924

This study aims to analyze the concept of intelligence from the perspective of the Multiple Intelligences (MI) theory and its integration with Pancasila values in learning processes. Howard Gardner’s MI theory posits that intelligence is not limited to academic or intellectual abilities (IQ), but comprises nine domains: linguistic, logical–mathematical, spatial, bodily–kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, and existential intelligences. In the Indonesian educational context, the development of these intelligences must align with Pancasila values to ensure that learning emphasizes not only cognitive achievement but also character formation. This study employs a literature review approach by examining scholarly sources related to intelligence, factors influencing its development, MI-based pedagogical strategies, and their relevance to Pancasila values. Findings suggest that intelligence is influenced by a combination of biological factors, social environments, and meaningful learning experiences. The integration of MI theory with Pancasila values promotes inclusive and humanistic learning, aligned with the goals of shaping the Profil Pelajar Pancasila (Pancasila Student Profile). Thus, MI-based learning fosters optimal development across academic, socio-emotional, and moral domains
Bambang TrisnoNeviyarni SAfdal

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/789

This study addresses the problem of how to design and implement an adaptive learning system to support students in the Modeling and Simulation course, where diverse backgrounds and learning difficulties often hinder the achievement of optimal outcomes. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of a machine learning approach, specifically a Decision Tree Classifier, to personalize students' learning paths based on their pretest performance. The research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection methods included pretest–posttest, questionnaires, and interviews, while data were analyzed both quantitatively to measure learning improvement and qualitatively to capture students' learning experiences. The main results show that the adaptive system effectively categorized students into three distinct learning paths remedial, standard, and enrichment each with tailored content to match students' competencies. The evaluation stage demonstrated an increase in learning outcomes and positive student feedback regarding motivation and satisfaction. These findings indicate that the adaptive learning system not only improved cognitive achievement but also enhanced students' engagement, offering a practical contribution to the development of technology-assisted personalized learning in higher education.
Liza EfriyantiSadar Martua Halolongan SirAdinda Puteri ManishaArif Malik PriyandriSaniatul Hasanah

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/814

Mental health is an important issue that is becoming increasingly complex in the modern era, marked by an increase in cases of stress, anxiety, and depression. In Indonesia, the majority of the population is Muslim, so mental health guidance and counselling practices require an approach that is not only based on modern psychology but also Islamic values. This article aims to analyse the integration of Mohammad Natsir's Islamic thinking into professional counselling practices. Natsir emphasises tauhid as the core of personality, akhlak as the manifestation of faith, and the balance of faith–knowledge–action as a principle of life, which are relevant as the foundation of Islamic counselling. This study uses a literature review method by examining Natsir's original works, secondary literature, and relevant research on Islamic counselling. The data were analysed using content analysis techniques, including reduction, categorisation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Natsir's ideas can be integrated with modern counselling practices, for example, through spiritual strengthening as a coping mechanism, morals as the basis for moral guidance, and the integration of faith, knowledge, and action with Islamic cognitive-behavioural therapy. Natsir's ideas also emphasise the importance of the role of family, community, and worship in maintaining mental health. This is relevant to addressing contemporary challenges, such as social media addiction, identity crises, moral degradation, and weak social bonds in the digital age. Thus, Mohammad Natsir's thinking not only offers psychological solutions but also strengthens spiritual and moral aspects. This integration can serve as a conceptual framework for the development of more holistic, contextual, and transformative Islamic counselling in Indonesia.
Andy Riski PratamaNoval FadliRamza Fatria MaulanaHengki JanuardiRafika Ridha Izzati

https://proceedings.uinbukittinggi.ac.id/biced/article/view/821

This research is motivated by the fact that the conventional method of teaching and learning the Yellow Book at MTI Canduang Agam is still being used, which leads to limitations in documentation, information access, and the efficiency of learning management. The main question in this research is how to design a web-based information management system that can digitize and optimize the Yellow Book learning process in a structured and effective manner. The novelty of this research lies in the development of an information system specifically focused on learning the Yellow Book with a digital approach in the Islamic boarding school environment. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model and the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach. System evaluation is conducted based on the ISO/IEC 25010 standard with a focus on three characteristics: functional suitability, compatibility, and usability. The test results show that the system fulfills all main functions with a value of 100% for functional suitability and compatibility, and obtained a usability score of 89.97% from 24 respondents. This study concludes that the developed system is very feasible to be implemented and can improve the effectiveness of the learning process in Islamic boarding schools.
Muhammad IqbalHari Antoni MusrilLiza EfriyantiSarwo Derta
